Why did you choose the Renault Zoe?
The Zoe had an upgrade in 2020 with improved range, interior, lights and came in at a competitive price for a start in the EV market. Zoe also has a 7 year pedigree so has developed well. It’s fun to drive and cheap to run.

Second-hand Renault Zoes (older ones) are a relatively cheap entry into EV ownership because of the battery lease. Also, it’s the right thing to do for the planet.

- Nearly all my driving is in London – size and performance-wise the Zoe is an ideal city car
- I like the look/colour of the car
- It is practical – 5 door, 5 seater
- I find it comfortable and easy to drive.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car?
- Seats are GT line spec and are a bit spongy
- Too much hard plastic trim inside, especially on doors
- Zoe pedestrian horn noises sound weird.

- Charging speed but seen worse
- Space inside and in the back not the best but again seen worse.

Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
How well it has stood up to daily use, still on original brake disc and pads, paint is still great, never a cold car in the morning, pre heating or cooling.
Because the battery is low the road holding is great. It leaves Audi, BMWs etc. standing at the lights.
What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Project EV solar zappi copy. Yes for the price but it’s not as user friendly as the zappi but it’s £300 cheaper.

Polar – I’ve had it for over 5 years and I’d totally recommend.
What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Mainly Polar with subscription but that’s getting binned after their recent price increases. Home charging is always cheaper but look around for the best prices just like you did with ICE fuel prices when charging away from home.
Pod Point generally are always working, Tesco offer free 7kw and 22kw for my Zoe.
