Why did you choose this car?
Technology leader, electric, range, Super Charger network, acceleration.
Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car?
- Great acceleration
- Feels like the future
- Mostly great technology
Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car?
- Interior is too sterile, lacking features – Car Play, Android Auto, heads up display, vent controls, Apple Music, Elon Musk (brilliant but tends to over-estimate self/under-estimate timelines) aka FSD.
Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
Charging is much easier than I expected – you can get along with only the Supercharger network if needed. Charging is fast and easy – huge Tesla advantage.
What EV are you interested in next and why?
Polestar 2 – interior and exterior design, modern yet not so emptily sterile that it feels like a Sci-Fi movie view of the future, Android Automotive/Google Assistant built in, the ride feels secure and solid yet fun too.
What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
ChargePoint Home Flex – fast and easy and can be used with Tesla and other EVs.
What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
We don’t have an option where I live but it is Xcel Energy and they are great. We opted for 100% renewable energy and only pay a couple dollars more each month.
What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Tesla Supercharger. 100%, they are fantastic and the bar all other public charging networks should measure themselves against (hint to those networks who install one charger that is broken or slow).
Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
USAA, fantastic rates based on our age and driving history, less than $50/month for full insurance with high limits.
