SEAT Mii electric 2020 owner review

SEAT Mii electric 2020 owner review

Richard drives a SEAT Mii electric car 2020.

This is Richard’s first electric car, he’s owned the Mii electric from new and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and he achieves 100 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the SEAT Mii electric?

Wanted to (and could afford to) stop creating exhaust emissions on the streets. Also, once you’ve driven electric there is no going back. It’s so smooth & easy.

2. Great in the city

3. Big enough to carry my drum kit.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

1. The GOM (guessometer) is exactly that. Can jump from saying you have 100 miles to 10 miles left in an instant

2. SEAT – the dealers are very old school

3. The range – if it actually did 160 it would be perfect.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Yes, initially it couldn’t change at 7k at home. A software update fixed it. Software updates have to be done by the dealers.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • Very nippy motor
  • Nice touch with heated seats and windscreen
  • Chargers in 4 hours at home – Octopus Go cheap period.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

It fits a drum kit (seats down) or my 2 adult lads (if around town) in the back. And the boot itself is big enough for shopping.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Already lucky enough to have a Model 3 for those longer journeys.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your home charging unit

EO Mini Pro – does the job well. The app is very basic but I use this over the SEAT app for timed charges.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your electricity supplier & tariff

Octopus Go – cheap rate 4 hours. Perfect for us, charging either if our cars.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Around Greater Manchester we have BE.EV which is excellent and growing. The SEAT is mostly charged at home. Thankfully we have the Supercharger network for longer journeys in the Tesla.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your insurer

Churchill – was simply the best deal last year.
