Why did you choose this car?
I had looked around at other affordable EVs including the BMW i3, however none of them had the comforts I was looking for and any other EVs were out of my price range. The MINI had all the features I wanted and was affordable, it also test drove really well. It’s nice and nippy.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.

  • The range isn’t great for longer journeys
  • it doesn’t have a light for the charger at night.

 

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
No faults, everything has been perfect.

 

What are the standout tech features of the car?
You can get all the extra features and still get an affordable comfortable car, the menu system worked really well and is a pleasure to drive around.

You can use Alexa in the car, which is weird.

What car are you interested in next and why?
A bigger EV, maybe a Countryman if they made a full electric one, otherwise one of the BMW electric vehicles.

Unfortunately, I was not able to install a home charger.

I use Octopus as they have special off-peak rates.

Instavolt have been the best I have found out there along with the new IONITY chargers.

  • IONITY
  • the newer Gridserve chargers.

 

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
MINI insurance as they gave me a great rate and I got 3 months free when buying my EV.
