Technology, huge storage space, really good-looking car and charging infrastructure.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.

  • Trying to keep her clean in winter
  • Back seat is a 60:40 split so can’t fold just the middle seat
  • No waypoints on the sat nav (yet).

Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
White interior when you have a small boy is fine.

What car are you interested in next and why?
New Model S – can’t see me driving (or being driven) by anything else.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Tesla Gen2 wall charger – we have 2 as my partner has a Model 3. We had Tesla chargers as they can load balance between themselves. I’d recommend the newer Gen3 charger as it will be getting smart functionality.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
We’ve been on Octopus Go for a few years now. It gives us 4 hours of 5p a unit of electricity which is long enough to charge both cars. I’d recommend it but it’s always worth checking the whole market as day rates vary around the country.

What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
I’ve only ever used the Tesla network & the free Pod Points at Tesco. They’ve always worked for me. A cheeky charge whilst shopping is great, covers off the miles to & from the supermarket.

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
I use LV. They seem to offer good EV coverage with a couple of additional freebies like offering a free ‘flatbed of shame’ if the worst should happen & you run out of charge. Thankfully, I’ve not had to use their services & my renewal has just come through at £20 more than last year so, although I’ll check the whole of the market, it’s likely I’ll renew with them.
