What car are you interested in next and why?
Too soon. It’s another 3.5 years and the market is only just getting going.
What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Andersen A2 – it’s expensive but looks good and blends in well with the surroundings. The long cable wraps around out of sight, it’s very well made, wireless, and is 22kW so delivers the max 11kW DC conversion rate for the car. Will easily support a second EV in the near future.
What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
I’m on EDF fixed until Dec 2022 @ 16p/kW constant. Tried to move to Octopus but they couldn’t get me a smart meter on 3 phase supply (which I am) and now the prices are higher. Nothing wrong with EDF.
What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
I don’t. I have a Shell Recharge card as well as Plugsurf.
Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
LV on a multicar policy – was the same premium as my previous car, a Land Rover Discovery 2018.
