Why did you choose this car?
Already owned 2 Mustangs so adding a third as a daily driver seemed logical.
Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car?
- It’s a Mustang and range would get us most places we go
- On a practical note it can cope with 3 grandkids and has reasonable boot capacity too.
Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car?
- Several minor problems but only to be expected as early owners of a new model. Appearance-wise the front grille didn’t look right but that is now wrapped.
- Several niggles which can be resolved by searching various customisation options (i.e. very bright navigation screen).
Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
Despite historical Mustangs being coupes/convertibles, V8’s and loud the Mach-E as a SUV, electric and quiet manages to truly fit in the Mustang family.
What car are you interested in next and why?
Will be keeping 2 Mustangs long-term and the Mach-E is on a 4 year PCP so will replace that after 4 years; would suspect with another Mustang. Why? ‘cos it’s a Mustang.
What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
At the moment the majority of our mileage is a few very short runs therefore we are finding charging via a 13amp socket works for us.
What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
You really need to do your homework with this subject. Low overnight tariffs tend to have high day rates and some overnight tariffs can only be used for charging EVs. Therefore this very much depends on your usage and available tariffs; you need to be good with a spreadsheet.
What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Just charge at home.
Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Direct Line – as with all insurance the only time you find out how good they are is when you need to make a claim. One of our previous cars was written-off in a non-fault accident and the service from Direct Line as excellent.
