Introducing your road trip
From Rugby town centre to Thames Ditton, West London then returned to Rugby.

Planning & preparation
I used the PlugShare App to plan my route and to be safe I entered a range of 50 miles between each fast charger.

Charging
I stopped at Milton Keynes Coachway, The Rose & Crown pub (off M25) and then the Crown Plaza Kingston. While working in London I topped up on a slow charger and returned to Milton Keynes Coachway for one fast charge on the way home. I arrived home with 22 miles of range.

The EV itself
I love the speed limiter in the Partner. It allows me to set a maximum speed and adjust it depending on how my range is going. I can also lower the heating if needed but on this trip I always had plenty of juice between each stop.

Road trip conclusion
I really enjoyed planning the route and then successfully putting it into action. I like to have plenty of range so if I find a broken charge point I can try another (but the app tells me if they’re broken or being used).

The van has limited range & the fast chargers only charge to 83% in 30 minutes… so the only time I have 100% charge is when I leave home. It seemed that the chargers mostly take 30 minutes no matter what range I have when I roll up. I think my first stop was maybe 20 minutes but all the others were exactly 30.

Driving around central London was a breeze and the estimated mileage went up (from 3.6 mpkWh to 4.2 mpkWh). Obviously, no congestion or ULEZ charge.
