What name would you like to appear in the article?

Glen (My first public charging failure!)

What is the make, model and year of your EV?

What do you think of public chargers generally?

I tend to use Pod Point chargers which are generally reliable, available and cheap if not free to use. I don’t use motorway rapids as they often incur a long wait and are expensive when they are working.

What and where are your favourite public chargers?

Supermarkets i.e. Tesco, Lidl or Sainsburys but I also head for shopping centres, malls etc. where there are a group of chargers available to use.

What’s been your best experience with a public charger?

Tesco / VW partnership chargers offering 22kw and 7kw together often found just off the motorway in most towns and cities.

What’s been your worst experience with a public charger?

Some random unmarked charger at a local Asda that was ‘iced’ as we arrived and was situated in a tiny parking space by the store entrance not big enough for our Zoe to park in and open the doors both sides! Also, we had our first failure at Paignton Premier Inn where the Pod Point was not charging and the dual plug charger only had one charging space?
